John H. Sununu is a former Governor of New Hampshire (1983–89) and former White House Chief of Staff under President George H. W. Bush. He is the father of John E. Sununu, a former senator from New Hampshire, and formerly a U.S. Representative. Sununu is the current chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party.

Raymond Buckley served 8 terms (1986-2004) as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives where he represented southern Manchester. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention from New Hampshire in 1988, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. He served as the vice chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party from 1999 to March 2007, when he was elected as chair.
